FAUST - deep web
Premiere - 3rd February 2017 - Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Torino
Faust is a dance performance created in collaboration with the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation for contemporary art. Together with the young visual artist Matteo Stocco, Raphael Bianco faces the second step of his “ trilogy of civilization” that began with his piece "Orlando". The two artists present a new perspective of reading Goethe's Faust in which an important role is played by the vain omnipotence of the web and where the choice of the choreographic installation allows to melt different performative codes. The focus of the research shared between Bianco and Stocco is the confrontation with knowledge, even the most underground and most secret. Plunging into a sound, visual and gestural abyss, wher the audience is the main actor.Everybody will face a fathom unspeakable and unconfessable but at the same time extremely attractive impulses, situations and feelings. Prohibited practices that arouse the most morbid curiosity and permeate the human soul, which however remains: an insurmountable mystery beyond all knowledge.
